The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, has submitted a complaint to the United Nations Security Council.

This complaint protests Israel’s violations of Resolution 1701, the ceasefire declaration, and its complete disregard for its commitments regarding the enhanced security arrangements related to the implementation of this resolution.

The complaint details Israel’s continuous violations since the ceasefire took effect on November 27, 2024. It also highlights Israel’s ongoing ground and air attacks, the destruction of homes and residential areas, and severe violations, including the abduction of Lebanese citizens, among them Lebanese army soldiers, and attacks on civilians returning to their border villages. These actions have so far resulted in the martyrdom of approximately 24 civilians and the injury of more than 124 others.

Lebanon’s complaint also addresses Israel’s attacks on Lebanese army patrols and journalists, emphasizing that Lebanon rejects Israel’s removal of five designated markers along the Blue Line and any unilateral attempts to relocate them.

Lebanon has called on the Security Council, particularly the countries supporting the ceasefire arrangements, to take a firm and clear stance against these repeated violations and to compel Israel to abide by its obligations. Additionally, Lebanon has demanded increased support for the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL forces to protect Lebanon’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens.
