The Photo Exhibition Based on Resistance
The photo exhibition "Bar Khat-e-Moghavemat" (Online Resistance) was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim at Gallery No. 1 of the Iranian House of Photographers in the Art Center. The gathering was attended by cultural and artistic figures, including Sayyid Haidar al-Hakim, the son of the martyr al-Hakim, and Sayyid Amir Naser Javid Haeri, the deputy head of the Art Center for International Affairs.
The exhibition showcased photographs of prominent figures such as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Ayatollah Shahroudi, and Ayatollah Meshkini, reviving their memory and legacy.
Javid Haeri’s Memory of Martyr al-Hakim
During the event, Sayyid Amir Naser Javid Haeri spoke about the impact of Martyr al-Hakim on his life, stating, "I owe my participation in congregational prayers to Martyr al-Hakim."
He recalled that during his childhood, Martyr al-Hakim served as the prayer leader at their mosque on Vozara Street. "If it weren’t for his constant smile and open arms towards children, perhaps it wouldn’t have been so easy for us to step into the mosque," he said. "As you can see, the works in this exhibition are intertwined with prayer, reflecting the character of Martyr Sayyid al-Hakim. The radiant faces displayed in this exhibition help purify our hearts and souls. We are delighted to announce that the Art Center warmly welcomes our Iraqi brothers as well."
A Blessed and Faithful Family
A participant who had known Martyr al-Hakim since 1984 and collaborated with him extensively in academic discussions and on various political issues in Iraq, both during and after the war, shared insights about the martyr.
Masjedi emphasized, "The Al-Hakim family is a blessed lineage, known for their scholarly contributions, virtues, and martyrdom. This family, including eight sons, daughters, and even four sons-in-law, are all prominent scholars and jurists. The Al-Hakim family is a cradle of scholars, martyrs, and warriors."
Martyr al-Hakim: A Fighter and Struggler
He further noted that 64 members of the Al-Hakim family had been martyred and explained that Martyr Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim had pursued both religious and academic studies. He reached the level of ijtihad (expertise in Islamic jurisprudence), excelling in fields such as philosophy, Quranic studies, and mysticism.
A Great Scholar
Masjedi shared Imam Khomeini's view of Martyr al-Hakim, stating, "When one saw Martyr Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, they were reminded of the Day of Judgment."
He described the oppressive treatment of Martyr al-Hakim by the Ba'ath regime in Iraq, noting the profound impact it had on observers. In numerous writings, Martyr al-Hakim is recognized for his jihad, political activism, and revolutionary personality. However, Masjedi emphasized, "I believe he was a distinguished scholar with expertise in Quranic studies, philosophy, history, society, and jihad."
He continued, "Martyr al-Hakim was a fighter, a political and revolutionary activist, a modern thinker, and an enlightened scholar. Rarely do we find multi-dimensional religious scholars like him."
Behavioral Traits of Ayatollah al-Hakim
The Iranian ambassador to Iraq highlighted the ethical characteristics of Martyr al-Hakim, describing him as humble, devout, hardworking, sincere, God-centered, and kind. He also mentioned the close relationship between Martyr al-Hakim and General Qassem Soleimani, noting their frequent meetings and Martyr Soleimani's eagerness to visit Ayatollah al-Hakim.
Masjedi concluded with personal memories of Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim.
In the final part of the commemoration, Mr. Nasri Abdul Mohsen Abdullah, the Iraqi ambassador, delivered a speech. The attendees then visited the gallery to view the displayed works.
